Overview:

Group Black activated at the Cannes Lions festival in 2022 with two tentpole events - The Soulmatic Beach party headlined by Nas with over 600 guests and a late night after hours 500-person event with DJ D-nice called Club Quarantine. Phil Neves was the creative director for the project, responsible for  creating the concept as well all of the branding and design elements, and overseeing all video and photo production. Group Black also partnered with Inkwell Beach to create a unique and inclusive experience at Cannes that highlighted important Black voices in the industry.

Branding and Design:

Phil Neves created the logo and branding for all events, as well as a variety of collateral materials, including flyers, posters, and social media graphics. Phil oversaw a team of designers to create the event environments, which were both visually stunning and functional.

Content Capture:

Phil hired and managed a video and photography crew to capture the events, and worked with them to create a cohesive look and feel for the content. The footage was used to create a variety of marketing materials, including social media posts, website videos, and press releases.

Results:

The events were a massive success, with both parties well over capacity. The content capture was also a success, and the footage was used to generate a lot of buzz for Group Black. Many top publications covered Group Black's presence and guests raved about their experience at the different activations.
